A day in the life of an Expert

Mr. Button picks up the phone halfway through the first signal. "Remember how many screws there are on the cover" are the first words he utters, quickly yet clearly, his voice sharp and ready. He only gets relaxed after we introduce ourselves as Daily Dramas editorial team and explain that we want to meet with him for an interview. "Oh, and sorry if I got you scared after I picked the phone up," he says as we are about to hang up. "I got used to a different kind of calls."

Mr. Button is a full-time Bomb Defusal Expert. Each day he receives dozens of calls from Unlikely Heroes trying to disarm Dr TiNT's bombs; in the last 2 years, he helped defuse 500 of them. He knows the Bomb Defusal Manual by heart. This is how he spends his day.

"I go to bed at 11 pm and wake up at 5 am. My ringtone and my alarm sound are the same, so if I'm really sleepy, I always pretend that an Unlikely Hero who needs my help is calling. After all, Dr TiNT can strike anytime."

When the day is unusually quiet, Mr. Button goes for a walk. He treats it an opportunity to leave Bomb Defusal Manuals in random public spaces – in case somebody needs one. "Most people I meet are afraid they're going to receive a text message from Dr TiNT one day," he says. "Feels good to do the right thing."

As the day comes to an end, Mr Button suddenly recalls the first time he helped to disarm Dr TiNT's bomb. "It was an airplane. My best friend was calling me for 5 full minutes before I picked up the phone. I was too distracted to get the instructions right. He didn't make it." That night, Mr Button went to bed knowing one thing – "that I will never let an Unlikely Hero down again." So far he managed to keep his word.
